Yea. Its running now and is kind of awesome. I feel a little ashamed of why my dad and I couldn’t figure it out by ourselves but Im ecstatic nonetheless.

Initially we weren’t getting any spark so we started messing around with the electricals. Found two dead crank (and something else) position sensors and replaced them but still couldnt get the engine to fire. Had a friend with an E28 535is come over and take a look and when we got to testing the fuse and relay for the fuel pump, the fuse was blown. The first thing we did when we got the car was replace all of the fuses so it didnt occur to either my dad or myself that we could have blown a fuse.

Surprisingly no. He’s a great guy and has seen worse. But we did find two random live wires that weren’t connected to anything that were probably responsible for blowing the fuse.

Nothing crazy, it had been sitting for 6 years before we bought it so getting it running was the main goal. With the recent spike in older manual BMW values I thought buying it was a no brainer since it should only increase in value (and we got it for pretty cheap)

I have said more than a few times in this space that that BMW body style is among the best they’ve ever done. Everything is balanced. I like that.

I love it even with the awful US spec bumpers. The body on it was redone 6 years ago right before it was promptly stored until now. That plus the fact that it’s a manual, meant that would have been idiots not to buy it.

You know those bumpers are easy to tuck in by a few inches, right? You have to drill and drain the shocks, which diminishes their functionality...but the Euro bumpers are even less functional than that.

Almost! Mine’s actually an early E28 based car. I dont think the color is the same though, my picture is terrible quality but the car is Lapis blue.
Your car is beautiful.

Ah see I’m a little bad with seeing blue. Oh well Lol. But thanks! I was thinking about picking up a ti for a quick project. They’re e30 based rear suspension right?

Cool. In a barn back in PA is a bunch of suspension components for an e30, leftover from when I had one.
